Making Apple computers accessible to blind children

Sensory Aids Foundation engaged in a study examining computer-aided instruction (CAl) with 15 visually impaired students. Off-the-shelf educational software was adapted for use with a speech synthesizer. Students were tutored in typing, spelling, and language skills. The study was conducted for approximately 6 months, and the results were analyzed and are discussed in this paper.
